Antenor Challenge
The City of Buenos Aires had crime data and no crime picture. Incident records lived in administrative systems, written for case processing rather than analysis: addresses entered by hand, inconsistent formats, categories that varied by source. Turning that into something a citizen could consult, or an official could use to allocate resources, required solving an unglamorous problem at scale: making messy, real-world incident data geographically precise and publicly presentable.
Solution
Antenor built the Crime Map (Mapa del Delito) for the city’s Ministry of Justice. The core engineering was the data pipeline: cleaning and normalizing incident records, geocoding hand-typed addresses against the city’s street grid, and classifying incidents into categories that hold up when displayed side by side. On top of that pipeline sits the interactive map itself, letting users explore incidents across the city by location, type and time.
The hard part of civic transparency tools is rarely the map; it is trusting what the map shows. The pipeline was built so that what appears on screen traces back to the underlying records.
